이따구 단어를 왜 내가 알아야하나 싶지만, 이런걸 알아야 "purlin" 했을 때 - 아! 지붕 공사에 대해서 얘기하는 거구나 라고 컨텍스트를 잡는데 필요하다. 그림에 나와있는 다른 단어인 Joist는 이미 리모델링 관련 조사를 통해서 아는 단어임. 그러므로, 생각보다 자주 사용하는 단어가 될 수 도 있으니, 불평은 그만하고 기억해두기로 하자.

원래 동사의 1번 뜻 - have a severely detrimental effect on 으로만 알고 있었는데, 원래 식물관련된 말이었구나. 내 식물들이 blight를 많이 겪고 있으니...(흙흙), 잘 외워지겠다.
