Backpacking - Badger Creek즐겁고 행복한 미국 생활/Backpacking & Hiking Trips 2020. 8. 28. 00:00

I started at Bonnie Crossing Campsite (we parked there).
My original plan was to go all the way to Badger Lake (11 miles out and back), but;
1) I was bone tired (do not go mt biking the day before your first backpacking trip of the season)
2) Badger Lake is accessible by car (a really rough road though), so I was worried that there might be many car campers (with generators...)
Not too difficult, but there are lots of fallen trees on the trail you have to go over and lots of overgrown bushes/trees. The trail was by the creek most of the way - so it's really nice to hear the creek. I stopped at about 7 mile point, and there was no view of Mt. Hood up to that point. Oak trees in the lower area and pine trees in the upper area, some wild flowers (but not spectacular or anything) including red columbines.
There are lots of campsites, about 1 mile, 5 mile, and 7 mile points. There were two campsites at 7 mile point. The trail gets steeper from here to the lake (so I stopped).
the beginning :) About 5 miles into the trail. We ate lunch by this gorgeous creek. https://www.oregonhikers.org/field
Taking a break after setting up the tent. I don't remember why he took off his pants - it wasn't that hot. The fire master (me) is getting ready for the camp fire. The view of the camp site. It was one of the nicer ones for sure. Far from the trail and close to the creak. We didn't realize that fuel was really low. We had to come up with a setting to boil water with the fire. Nothing is better than Ramyeon for camping food - This time we brought jjampong (짬뽕라면) - oh man! it was delicious! Going back home. Badger Creek Hike - Hiking in Portland, Oregon and Washington
